On a very warm Monday morning on 9th October, 27 members visited the chateau de la Chevallerie at St-Gemme-le-Plaine.
The owner and his wife, Mr and Mrs Maison welcomed the group with tea and coffee and Mr Maison explained the architecture and history of the chateau before taking the group on a guided tour of the outside of the building and garden. There was just time to view some of the internal rooms.
Mr Maison was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable and the tour could have been longer.
A good lunch with efficient service was at l’atelier in Lucon.
