Over 35 members of the association gathered at the picnic area of the skate park of Faute sur mer at 10 AM on Sunday 26 May 2024. With the perfect walking weather, we set off along the embankment of the River Lay. Led by our expert walkers and route planners Hilaire and Bernadette we safely traversed the village and came to La Belle Henriette Reserve overlooking the beach and the sea. A short walk along the esplanade got us past the old German observation post behind the casino and then into the dunes. Then we were on the beach and an opportunity to paddle a little before into the woods and finally to the small marina, avoiding the roller-skaters! After a little more than 6km we returned to our start point where aperitifs provided by the AFB were enjoyed and we all settled down to the picnic. All our thanks go to those involved in arranging the day and especially to the committee and our intrepid guides Bernadette and Hilaire. A lovely day was had by all.
